Arizona Creek empties into the eastern part of Jackson Lake and was named after “Arizona George.” Arizona George was one of the trappers who camped on the shore of Jackson Lake during the winter of 1888-89. He spent most of his time alone trapping and hunting in the territory northeast of Jackson Lake. That was his territory and thus it was called after him.
