These picturesque badlands display vivid colorings of gray, lavender, orange and red. Effects of countless ages of erosion are seen here. The area appears worthless for grazing purposes, but an abundance of flat salt sage grows on the hills, providing good winter range for sheep when snow is plentiful for a water supply, as the area is arid.
