Origin of Name:

Bird's eye was surveyed by W. W. Peay for Bird's Eye Land Company, on April 26 to 28, 1907. With the Chicago and Northwestern railroad establishing train service at Shoshoni in 1906, Bird's eye became a way station for travelers between that place and Thermopolis. Its use diminished with the arrival of the Burlington railroad into Thermopolis in 1910...

History:

Birdseye Post Office was established on January 9, 1906 with Frederick E. Hagen as postmaster. It was discontinued on April 15, 1913 after which its mail was handled by the Shoshoni Post Office.
