Camp Davis was a camp for surveying, the first of its kind. It was established in 1874 by the late Professor Joseph Baker Davis, of the University of Michigan. The camp stands as a monument to his enthusiasm, his sincerity, his steadfast demand and his kindly interest in the student. In 1929 the camp was moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
