Origin of Name:

A hill west of Herron Creek in the south-central part of Yellowstone National Park, Wyo. Named from the many successive turns on the road leading down into Herron Creek from Isa Lake.

Corkscrew Hill is a name given by the stage drivers and riders to a very winding stretch of side hill road about a mile long, leading down from the Divide to the valley of DeLacy Creek. It is so crooked that you pass one place three time before you get by it, and then meet yourself on the road coming back.
