History:
Esterbrook Post Office was established in October, 1904 in Albany County. It was discontinued in November, 1957 and its mail then handled by the Douglas Post Office.

A mining camp and summer resort in Albany County, 80 miles north of Laramie, the county seat. Is 30 miles south of Douglas, the trading and banking point, and 20 miles southwest of Glendo, the shipping point. Has local telephone connection to various ranches and direct communication to Douglas. The Rustic Summer Resort at Esterbrook is an ideal place to rest and grow strong. 6700 feet high, in the mountain and the pines where the scenery is great and the air invigorating. Cabins for rent and rates are reasonable. The Rustic Inn is open during the summer and winter and always welcomes the tourist, hunters or the weary traveler to good meals and shelter.
