History:

Hams Fork Post Office was established in June, 1887 as Ham's Fork Post Office. Its name was changed to Hams Fork Post Office in December, 1894. It was discontinued in November, 1897 and mail sent to Kemmerer.

Stories:

Once a growing little metropolis on the short line, Hams Fork is now overshadowed by the rising glories of Diamondville. It has coal mining prospects and possibilities before it perhaps as promising as those of its sister town, but its progress at present, in all directions, is at a standstill.
