Stories:

Hiland is in a region notorious for violent winter storms, usually preceded by a fairly warm west wind that shifts into the east. The blizzard strikes without other warning and visibility swiftly becomes zero. Wind velocity sometimes reaches 70 to 80 miles an hour; the mercury drops 20 or 30 degrees in a few minutes. Roads are obliterated; windshields are caked with sleet.
