Tributary of the Belle Fourche which takes its name from Inyan Kara Mountain where it has its source. Sir George Gore and a hunting party, in 1854, killed so many buffalo that they were held up by Red Cloud's band. A Sioux Indian woman guide made peace and saved the party.
