It is located two miles north of Crowheart Butte on the north side of Big Wind and is on the Judkins ranch. Lenore was once a bustling community prior to 1920. But with the construction of the Diversion Dam across Wind River a new highway was rerouted along the opposite side of the river from Lenore.
