Origin of Name:

Alex Moorcroft was the first white man to build his cabin in the open, in defiance of the Indians. It was a ranch originally owned by two English men named Miller. They named the Moorcroft Ranch after their estate in England called “Moorcroft Acres.”

History:

Moorcroft Post Office was established as LaBelle Post Office in January, 1888. Its name was changed to Moorcroft Post Office on December 20, 1889.
