The pelican on the Yellowstone Lake is always an attractive feature of that body of water. ... The great breeding ground of the pelican is at the northeast corner of the lake, where its name is used to designate three important geographical features - Pelican Creek, Pelican Roost, an island, and Pelican Cone, a hill back in the interior.
