Origin of Name:
Saddlestring is actually the H.F. Bar Ranch, a big dude ranch as well as a regular cattle ranch. When there was a need to establish a post office there, the postal service wouldn't accept H.F. Bar as the name but suggested several others including "Saddlestring." The founder and owner of the ranch chose it because so many dudes (inexperienced riders) hold on to the saddlestrings of a saddle to keep from bouncing.
