Stories:

Located three miles west of Evanston. In the summer of 1872, a large band of Shoshone camped on the creek. Dick Blundell a miner met an Indian and a good natured debate arose as to whom had the best horse. They decided on a race. Nearing the home of Blundell, he instinctively turned his horse to avoid a telegraph line that had been strung for a clothes line. The Indian dashed into it and was caught below the chin and fell with a broken neck. Blundell raced for the town and men gathered in groups for resistance. After an evening of  shrill and piercing notes of the death song, followed by silence, it slowly passed and in the morning the Indians had left.
